Blueprint for the New Church - An American Anglican Council Southeast Regional Meeting
From the Rt. Rev. David AndersonDear Brothers and Sisters in Christ in the Anglican Church in North America,
Grace and Peace to you in Jesus’ name, and a hearty welcome to the first regional conference designed to bring ACNA churches together regionally in partnerships for ministry.
As you may know, the GAFCON Primates of the Anglican Communion have consistently expressed their wish that North American Anglicans would work closely together, rather than independently, as a precondition for recognizing a new Province for the Americas. In the context of the “lifeboats from Dunkirk” analogy, we have now built one new lifeboat in the formation of the Anglican Church in North America, and now is the time to get inside together. Now that we have a new “Province-in-formation,” with a formal process for gathering congregations regionally into dioceses, clusters and networks, the need for events that will bring ACNA congregations and their leaders together—and face to face—becomes even more compelling.
Promoting relationships and equipping opportunities for ACNA churches in a geographical region will be among the first steps in building a healthy Province. And hat is exactly what this conference is about. Please take a moment to review the offerings and schedule, and prayerfully ask yourself if God is calling you and your ministry team—Vestry, ministry leaders, and potential leaders—to attend this conference.
The AAC’s mission is to continue to work for the renewal and reformation of Anglicanism in North America, and the entire Communion. We are delighted to sponsor this conference as part of our mission. We hope you will join us for these days of equipping that will shape the future of our mission together in years to come.
Yours in Christ,
The Right Reverend David. C. Anderson, Sr.
